Staffordshire MPs have called for better consultation over the controversial HS2 project.
Stone MP Sir Bill Cash and Stafford’s Jeremy Lefroy both raised concerns over the £55 billion high speed railway during a debate in the House of Commons.
They both supported fellow Tory Cheryl Gillan’s calls for an independent adjudicator who could deal with complaints from residents affected by the project.
Phase 2a of the railway, between Lichfield and Crewe, will run through the Stafford and Stone constituencies. Mr Lefroy said HS2 would also affect residents in Tamworth, Lichfield and Crewe & Nantwich.
