Residents have hit out at plans to create a permanent maintenance depot for the building of the new HS2 railway line through Staffordshire.
HS2 Ltd has revealed plans for the construction site for the £55 billion high-speed railway near Stone.
The depot is initially needed for the construction of the route between Lichfield and Crewe. But there are fears the Stone maintenance depot – known as a railhead – could become permanent.
