HS2 railhead set to go ahead in Yarnfield despite concerns from residents

PLANS for a railhead near Stone which has caused outrage from residents will go ahead under latest plans for HS2.

HS2 Ltd announced the proposals for the depot at Yarnfield last year.

But 278 people objected to the scheme, which would see a temporary construction facility built next to the M6 and retained as a permanent maintenance depot for the high speed railway.

Transport Secretary Chris Grayling has announced the railhead will go ahead as planned, despite residents raising concerns over the impact on wildlife, traffic and the community.
